Hi, I’m Kelsey.

I’m a professional coach, consultant, and actor. I work with groups and individuals to unlock their potential with curiosity, creativity, and playfulness.

Coaching

When I started to work with Kelsey it was as if 15 years of career uncertainty came into focus and real action began to evolve for me. Kelsey is professional, supportive, optimistic, and realistic in working towards real and tangible goals. She has made me feel worthy in my profession and reinvigorated my passion for teaching.
— R.S.
I worked with Kelsey last spring and I can honestly say that she changed my life. We worked specifically on my moving into a new phase of my creative life and her ability to actively and compassionately listen and guide my process was extraordinary.
— E.B
Kelsey is amazing at asking the right questions and reflecting back what you need to hear most. My trust in her to be constructively tough and honest is what allowed me to grow meaningfully and effectively during this process.
— C.A.
I’m someone who benefits from bouncing ideas off of other people, and Kelsey provided a great sounding board. She guided me though answering life’s tough questions, and I came out of our sessions with a much clearer vision of the future.
— B.K.

What is coaching?

So glad you asked.

The International Coaching Federation (ICF) defines coaching as, “partnering with clients in a thought provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential.”

My clients use coaching to establish and pursue goals with less stress, navigate through a challenging or transitional time, build confidence in organizational and management skills, manage work/life balance, or simply to recharge and refocus. Many use it for a combo of these reasons.

As your coach, I will partner with you to clarify your core beliefs and values, identify areas where you would like to create positive change, and co-create practices and actions to help you achieve your desired outcomes. The process of coaching often unlocks previously untapped sources of imagination, productivity and leadership.

I start every coaching relationship with a complimentary 30-minute sample session. Get in touch and give it a try!

Consulting & Training

“APT’s professional development series was extremely popular with our organization. Managers and individual contributors who regularly collaborate in cross-functional meetings learned tools and techniques to become better active listeners and to build trust and communication among team members.
— Bill Checovich, Illumina
I walked away feeling confident and comfortable with our group discussions. It felt wonderful to open up to my peers.
— Anon., Sauk Prairie Healthcare
Kelsey’s approach to the material helped me think differently and more deeply about these concepts in a way that was fun and engaging. It also added some new techniques to my repertoire. I find myself thinking about the material and what I learned quite a bit, even months later. I’m grateful to have been a part of it.
— Stef Morrill, River Valley Commons

What can my team learn?

Simple, repeatable tools that bring a little spark to communication.

As the Director of Professional Development Programs at American Players Theatre, I create unique, interactive curriculum that focuses on team building, collaboration, emotional intelligence, and presentation skills.

I’ve worked with clients at U.S. Bank, Gundersen Health Systems, Zendesk, Boldt Construction, The Milwaukee Water Council, Illumina, Paradigm, Steve Brown Apartments, and Sauk Prairie Healthcare in a judgement-free environment that encourages risk, promotes growth, and creates awareness.

As with coaching, the process begins with a complimentary 30-minute needs assessment and detailed written proposal to follow.

Acting

[Brennan’s] performance is touchingly natural and sympathetic.
— The Wall Street Journal, Terry Teachout
Brennan is masterful in the role, and her performance in the last act stuns in its dramatic transformation.
— Isthmus, Sheila Regan
Kelsey Brennan dominates the stage with her radiance...Her closing-scene transformation is breathtaking.
— Shepherd Express, Kevin Lynch

I’ve worked professionally in regional theaters for more than 15 years, performing works by Shakespeare, Austen, Chekhov, Coward, Ibsen, Miller, O’Neil, Shaw, Stoppard, Wilde, and Williams all across the midwest. These works demand a rigorous approach to storytelling, with an emphasis on voice and text skills, radical collaboration, and high-energy performance.

I am proud to be part of American Players Theatre’s Core Acting Company, an elite group of thirteen actors committed to performing timeless, challenging, poetic texts to the broadest audience possible.
